Maria (Marie) T. Ouellette, 77, of the Brookfield Section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 23, 2009.
Born on April 16, 1932 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Theresa Luvisi Oriente. Marie had lived in Whippany, NJ for 40 years before moving to Brookfield in 2002.
Marie had been employed as a bookkeeper for an automobile dealership in E. Hanover and then a law office in Morristown. After her retirement in 1994, Marie had enjoyed gardening, traveling and especially painting in watercolor. She had received numerous prizes and awards for her artwork.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, J. Roger Ouellette; a daughter, Dianne M. Scherrer and her companion, Glenn MacAteer of Blairstown, NJ; a step granddaughter, Kiersten Shelton and her husband Kenneth; two step great-grandsons, Andrew and Sean all of Meridian, MS; two brothers, Ernest (Chic) Oriente and his wife Audrey of Auburn, MA and William (Bill) Oriente and his wife Carolyn of Spencer, MA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in her memory to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation 532 Lafayette Road, Sparta, NJ 07871 or the charity of one's choice.
