Robert E. "Beanie" Wolfinger, 82, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his home.
Born on March 4, 1927 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Anna Belle Albright Wolfinger.
Beanie was a planner in the engineering department of Hoffman-LaRoche, Belvidere, NJ for over 18 years, before retiring. He had served in the Navy during WWII. He was elected to Belvidere Town Council and was a former Police and Fire Commissioner. He was a Belvidere Youth Athletic Association Little League coach and umpire. Mr. Wolfinger had volunteered many work hours in the construction of the Good Will Fire house. He was also an avid fisherman.
Mr. Wolfinger was predeceased by a son, Robert Earl Jr.; two brothers, William and Eddie; two sisters, Frances Teats and Gladys Jiorle.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Helen May Brady; four sons, Robert Brady and his wife Bunny of Middletown, NY, Eric Wolfinger and his wife Joanne of Washington, NJ, Keith Wolfinger and his wife Kristen, Kevin Wolfinger all of Belvidere, NJ; a daughter, Eva A. DiNicola and her husband William of Belvidere, NJ; a sister, Florence Adams of Port Richey, FL; four grandsons, five granddaughters, two great-grandsons; three step-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 532 Lafayette Road, Sparta, NJ 07871.
